Christian Doctrine of God : 2. The Communicable Attributes of God. b. The Wisdom of God.

Don't be overwhelmed by the Big words. Look them up in a Dictionary or Online. I will try to explain some of them.

Introduction

We know that God knows everything past, present and future. These are not only realities but possibilities. He can reveal his knowledge to us through revelation from the Scriptures and also by Prophecy or a Word of Knowledge. The Holy Spirit is in the business of increasing our knowledge of God and of His Son, Our Lord jesus Christ. Now we will look at

b. the Wisdom of God.

This is an aspect of His Knowledge. It is the virtue of God which manifests itself in the selection of worthy ends and in the choice of the best means for the realization of those ends. L.B. p. 36
Wisdom is a Virtue and as a virtue, it is a habit or disposition to perform the action with the highest degree of adequacy under any given circumstance. wikipedia.com The best action for the time and situation.
To be Wise Or wisdom, a moral rather than an intellectual quality. To be “foolish” is to be godless.                                                                                                                                      Psa 14:1  To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God! They acted corruptly; they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.
Psa 14:2  Jehovah looked down from Heaven on the sons of men, to see if there were any who understood and sought God.
Jdg 19:23  And the man, the master of the house, went out to them and said to them, No, my brothers, I pray you, do not do evil, since this man has come into my house. Do not do this foolish sin.
Jdg 19:24  Behold, my daughter, a virgin, and his concubine. I will bring them out now, and you humble them and do with them what seems good to you. But do not do so vile a thing to this man. Immorality and Homosexuality are foolish and vile according to the Scriptures
compare  2Sa_13:13).
True wisdom is a gift from God to those who ask it (Job 28:12-28; Pro_3:13-18; Rom_1:22; Rom_16:27; 1Co_1:17-21; 1Co_2:6-8; Jam_1:5).

“Wisdom” in Pro 1:20  Wisdom cries outside; she utters her voice in the streets;
Pro 1:21  she cries in the chief place of gathering, in the openings of the gates; in the city she utters her words, saying,
Pro 1:22  How long will you love simplicity, simple ones? And will scorners delight in their scorning? And will fools hate knowledge?
Pro 8:1  Does not wisdom call? And does not understanding put forth her voice?
Pro 8:2  She stands in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the path.
Pro 8:3  She cries in the gates, before the entrance of the city, at the doors.
Pro 8:4  To you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
See Pro_9:1-5 may be regarded not as a mere personification of the attribute of wisdom, but as a divine person, “Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1Co_1:24).
In Mat_11:19 it is the personified principle of wisdom that is meant.

Applications.

  1. Do you really want to know the wise thing to do? Then cry out to God and He will freely and liberally give you all the wisdom you need. Trust the Wisdom of God in His Word.
  2. If you are caught up in Promiscuity and wickedness then hear a word of Wisdom, “FLEE FROM THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW!!!!!!” THE TRAP YOU ARE IN WILL JUST GET TIGHTER.
