Man in the State of Sin: The Origin of Sin

Memorize
Rom 5:12  Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death passed to all men, because all sinned.
Rom 5:18  Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. EMTV

Introduction

We have looked at the theories of men who either deny or misconceive or minimize sin. Atheists, determinists and hedonists all attempt to downplay the importance of sin in our lives. So do Evolutionists who say that the concept of sin is just a leftover from our primeval development. Then if we developed from blood letting and death then why is such violence today frowned upon. It is just a part of our nature they say. Why have laws that inhibit the “survival of the Fittest.” Dawkins says "concerning abortion he is an Agnostic". Really he has to be a believer.
The fall of Adam and Eve is essential for Christianity, for without the Fall, humanity would not have acquired a sin nature

Now let’s look at the Real Origin of Sin.

Question : What is the Biblical View of the Origin of Sin?
The Bible teaches us that sin entered the world as a result of the Transgression of our forefathers Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The first sin wa the result of the Temptation by that Old Serpent, the Devil, who sowed in man’s heart the seeds of doubt and unbelief. Read Genesis 3

Jesus said,”Joh 8:44  You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of lies. “
Paul Said, "Rom 16:20  And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

2Co 11:3  But I fear, lest perhaps as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The Apostle John said Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

The First sin consisted in man eating of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This eating was sinful because God had forbidden it. It shows man was rebellious and unwilling to submit to the will of God.
It comprised these elements:
In the intellect it revealed itself as unbelief and pride.
In the Will it revealed itself as the desire to be like God.
In the Affections it showed as an unholy satisfaction in eating of what was a forbidden fruit.

As a result man lost the image of God in a restricted sense, became guilty and utterly corrupt, and fell under the sway of Death. Man was chased from the Presence of God and the Paradise in Eden.
Adam and Eve excluded from the Paradise of God.
Note these verses:
Gen 3:16  To the woman He said, I will greatly increase your sorrow and your conception. In pain you shall bear sons, and your desire shall be toward your husband, and he shall rule over you.
Gen 3:17  And to Adam He said, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it! The ground is cursed for your sake. In pain shall you eat of it all the days of your life.
Gen 3:18  It shall also bring forth thorns and thistles to you, and you shall eat the herb of the field.
Gen 3:19  In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.

Rom 5:12  Therefore, even as through one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed on all men inasmuch as all sinned:

Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Adam Clark “For the wages of sin is death - The second death, everlasting perdition. Every sinner earns this by long, sore, and painful service. O! what pains do men take to get to hell! Early and late they toil at sin; and would not Divine justice be in their debt, if it did not pay them their due wages?”
